Football coach Shawn Clark sadly passed away on Sunday.
Earlier this month, Clark experienced a medical emergency. He was receiving the necessary care since the event occurred on September 9.
“Coach [Scott] Frost and our football and administration staffs are fully supporting Coach Clark and his loved ones during this time and our thoughts and prayers are with Shawn and his family,” said Appalachian State, where Clark served as a head coach for five seasons.
Clark’s death came as a surprise, as he was deemed to be in a stable condition after his medical crisis.
It is not yet publicly known what Clark’s medical emergency was and how it led to his eventual passing.
“A remarkable man, a husband and father. We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of offensive line coach Shawn Clark. 💛,” UCF wrote in an Instagram post on Monday.
