Sinclair Broadcast Group announced Monday that they will not be airing Jimmy Kimmel Live! when the show returns to ABC.

Last week, the show was un-aired on ABC after Kimmel made controversial comments after the passing of Charlie Kirk.

However, on Monday, the Disney-owned network decided to re-air Kimmel’s show after significant public backlash.

Sinclair—a company affiliated with all major broadcast networks, including ABC—continues to stand in opposition to ABC’s decision to reinstate Kimmel.

Sinclair posted on X that they “will be preempting Jimmy Kimmel Live! across [their] ABC affiliate stations and replacing it with news programming.”

The company says it will consider lifting the ban on Kimmel’s show under a few conditions.

They want Kimmel to “issue a direct apology to the Kirk family” and make a “meaningful personal donation to the Kirk Family and Turning Point USA.”

The show will return if and when Sinclair is “confident that appropriate steps have been taken to uphold the standards expected of a national broadcast platform.”
