Ryan Routh, who attempted to assassinate former and future president-elect again, Donald Trump, last September, has been found guilty of all charges brought against him on Tuesday.
The verdict was deliberated in under three hours.
After hearing the verdict, seemingly emotionless Routh attempted to stab himself in the neck with a pen.
His daughter yelled out, “Oh my god, he’s trying to kill himself, he’s trying to kill himself! Someone stop him, please!”

Marshalls stopped him and put him in shackles.
His daughter called out, “I love you, and we will get you out, don’t worry,” before promptly being removed from the courtroom.
IT specialist John Grouse, who was in attendance, said neither he nor anyone else in the courtroom noticed blood.
Routh received a total of five charges, as follows:
- Attempted assassination of a major presidential candidate
- Assaulting a federal officer
- Possessing a firearm with the intent to commit a violent crime
- Possession of a firearm and ammunition as a convicted felon
- Possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number
Routh argued, “Mere planning of something is not intent. It is only a dream, a fantasy.”
Yet, he was seen with a loaded rifle in a bush on Trump’s West Palm Beach country club. A secret service agent was able to stop him before he fired.
Judge Aileen Cannon will sentence Routh on December 18. He faces potential life in prison.
President Trump celebrated the victory on TruthSocial. “Congratulations to Attorney General Pam Bondi, Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche, and the entire DOJ team on the conviction, in Florida, of the person who attempted an assassination on my life,” he said in a post.
“The trial was meticulously handled, and I would like to thank the Judge and Jury for their time, professionalism, and patience,” Trump continued. “This was an evil man with an evil intention, and they caught him.”
“I would also like to thank the Secret Service, Department of Florida Law Enforcement, and the wonderful person who spotted him running from the site of the crime, and acted by following him, and getting all information on car type and license plate to the Sheriff’s Office, IMMEDIATELY, which led to his arrest and conviction. What incredible instinct and foresight this person had — A very big moment for JUSTICE IN AMERICA!”
